What’s different about the Futura is the specially developed NoEdge technology on its sole. Here, unlike with conventional climbing shoes, the classic edge construction has been completely forgone, resulting in a sole that perfect fits the profile of the foot. The lack of edges allow the foot to exert an even pressure onto the inner walls. This pressure can than be homogeneously transferred to the outside. When combined with little rubber thickness, this makes the Futura’s sole extremely flexible on the rock, maximizing the contact surface of each step. Precise surefootedness is guaranteed!
The rubber layer of the sole is particularly thin. To prevent the climbing shoes from quickly wearing out, the Futura is equipped with a protective rubber edge all the way around. This also ensures grip and effectively works against any distortion of the shoe. Another bonus is the patented P3 system, which ensures that the shoe retains its shape (particularly the down turn) through a specially treated LaspoFlex midsole.
Of course, high performance climbing shoes like the Future have neat pre-tensioning and a good portion of down turn; this allows for conclusive power transfer from the forefoot. Furthermore, the Futura is kitted out with a Fast Lacing System, enabling you to get them on and off quickly and accurately.
